That said, they only fit certain cylinder heads (my Indy ones) so I guess cut n shut will have to happen.
Just out of my comfort zone as I have to entrust the job to someone.
I think when to own a Mopar the comfort zone thing goes straight out the window
:D :D

No yer bugger you're not!

I must have measured every aspect of this job about 20 times. Anyway, my TIG welder guy mocked up the adjusted pipe and it all now fits. Tight, but fits.
It clears everything including my new shifter bracket/over to maintain the column shift.
More reports in due course and pics eventually
Still fabbing up the exhaust set up currently and sorting a hint shield for the starter motor

....many hours of work later. Fixed the trans cooler pipe leak ( thanks to Jerry for much needed part), but on close inspection the shift lver is too close to the cooler pipe. Got to carefully bend that to clear, but is very close to a 90 degree bend and I don't want to pinch or break it.
Horrible to work on with the header collectors obscuring both sight and reach.
Headers really are a bastad to fit even when they fit!
Anyway, sounded great when run up this evening. Just got to seal off all leaks and ensure that cooler pipe runs clear.
Oh, and I replaced two freeze pugs just for good measure. The centre ones have rust gathering around them as they were cast with a raised edge that attracts rust and crap from the block side.
Obviously that was an easy job to do under the car in situ :?

Be nice to be on the road again ;)

Thanks Pete, I'm going to be thorough. Don't need things busting apart down the road. I drive it too much for that.
Since we last spoke I've fitted a mini starter, fitted all correct throttle and kickdown linkages and I intend to do this header/exhaust job just the once.

Well the bastads are on and it's running. Must have spent about 25 hours or more in total. Without a huge story here are some of the fun parts that were involved
Slip pipe hits chassis/torsion bar. Took a week to find someone who would tig weld and cut and Bananarama! a new pipe in for number 7 cylinder.

Offer up,headers only to find that TTI jig must have been out as number 7 touches number 5 pipe and the bolt holes won't line up

Too late to use a hammer as nice new welded pipe touches the bit that would need a hammer blow.

Drill out all holes and file until they fit. About 15 times I did this and now I can't get a bolt/stud into the last hole by the bulk head. Amazingly it doesn't blow going down the road with just the one bolt currently. Credit to TTI for very thick header flanges even if the holes don't line up

Passenger side dropped in. VERY close to torsion bar, go over speed bumps slowly.

Fitted nice shiny new spacious torique bar which allows column shift to work.
Of course I had to heat and bend the shift lever and then file the torque bar and somehow squeeze a trans pipe they both. This took about 5 trial fittings

Start car and see trans fluid blow out of stripped trans Union to cooler pipe. Thanks to Jerry for sending me another with threads

Still got a leak somewhere on trans line, but car is to hot to touch now

Car sounds great, really great and I haven't even opened her up yet. Because of the leak I have to fix tomorrow.

Cheers guys. Will provide a full report on the seat of the pants effect once I've had a hoon down the road. I hope :?

Trans pipe leak fixed
Me,or to self and all. Only pierce the veil tape the NPT thread, not the dome piece that the pipe screws onto or it wil leak. This I know now.

Finally went for a bit of a run and all was good for about 6 miles so i thought I'd pull over and check for any leaks as I'm rightly paranoid now.

It was then that I realised that the shifter wasn't shifting and I was stuck in second gear. No problem, it'll do about 80 in second so back route home.

Suspicions confirmed in that the R clip that retains the shift rod to the cross linkage had ridden up and disappeared down the road.

No leaks

Will replace with split pin and try again.

Felt very strong when I opened her up in second gear for a bit.
