kick down advise

Hello, My kick down was working ok before the car sat far about 2 years. I have a locker adjustable cable, I have tried moving the adjuster each way but the kick down still doesn't work. There's resistance on the cable when you pull it by hand so I presume its still attached box end.

What's the procedure on setting the cable up properly, so I know the cables set up right.

just found the lockar instructions, will have a look and make sure its adjusted properly

Adjusted the cable as per the lockar instructions.
Throttle revs better as kick down cable was too tight (managed to lay some rubber down on my street)

Thing is its still not kicking down. Would having the lightest secondary spring in the carb affect the kick down at all?

Any ideas?
