removing dart fenders 68 dart

Post by gmopar59 »

Have rust issues on both lower fenders which i think will be easier sorted with them removed. Some nuts & bolts and spot welds to remove on the inner fenders and a couple of bolts in the wheel arches. Do the slash guards need removing? How best to do this? Hope to start this next week. Any advice please. Gerry

Yes you have to remove the splash guards to access the bolt on the top rear corner of the wing. the splash guards unbolt but some of the bolts have small heads that will be buried in the undercoating, a keen eye and some scraping required. Unless someone has messed with it, the wings are totally bolt on, no spot welds to deal with. You will need to remove the front bumper and the grille to get the wings off.

bit of petrol on the underseal will soften it up ,be carefull removeing the splash gaurds as they have a rubber seal up them that seals the wing ,pry off slowly or they will rip
