Been fannying around with door locks this week. Fitting the lock directly to the thicker fibreglass door was proving troublesome. After a bit of headscratching I decided the best approach was to make a aluminium panel to fit the lock to. Easy enough to form over the original steel door. I bonded it on and secured with peel rivets which are great for use on fibreglass as they spread the load.It lined up first time and works perfectly now.

I discovered '67 cars used a clear indicator lens rather than an amber one on a '68. In my usual fashion of fixing something that isn't broke, I found a pair of NOS ones on eBay, look a lot neater and almost invisible now I think.

Yes that lens works better with the blue headlight... interesting 'peel' rivets... will they keep tight?

Peel rivets don't come loose, they give your wrist a good work out fitting them by hand, they grip like the brown stuff to a blanket....

Not seen anything like that before blue, is it your design or something they did back in the early days. Cool though :) Richard.

Been done like that for years Richard, Can't claim it was my Idea I think a few people just came up with the same solution. I've made my own in the past but most of the race car suppliers sell a kit these days.
