cut off one side leaving a 5mm wide tab in the middle
bolt module to the other side of the angle

halfords for a massive jubilee clip to clamp the thing round your dizzy

good to 6000 rpm runs at 12 volts coil has 0.8 to 1 ohm primary resistance not 3 ohm

so it runs at 5-7 amps not 3 amps

nice

if your tacho goes mental move the module wires away from the plug and king lead.
if it runs bad, swap the dizzy wires round
halfords do lucar connectors in normal and thin in their bumper box of connectors you will never use.

OK - I've been here and gone down this route. (after getting REALLY sick of the mopar regs and orange boxes blowing).
Needless to say I traced the problem in the end but decided to rip it all out anyway.

So I bought the ready-to-run MSD. You strip out all the orange box, Ballast etc. 12v in one end, spark out the other. For me it works a treat and I now feel I have a unit I can trust.

Incidently the problem for me was caused by the old alternator. The behaviour seemed to be that the components would blow on shutdown. It was like it was getting a bolt back from the alternator or something. Sometimes it was the voltage reg that blew. Sometimes it was the orange box. But when they blew they were toast. I never managed to measure it - but in desperation replaced the alternator and its behaved since then. I'd bet that had I sorted the charging system out first I could have saved a lot of pain.

Anyway - thats it. I spent the money on the MSD unit, it simplifies things and seems to work a treat. Theres a big thread on it somewhere
