Had a look this morning, no hazards, brake lights, tail lights or reversing lights. Rattled the hazard switch on and off a few times and everything but the reversing lights started working again. I’ll trace the reversing light circuit in the week and see what’s going on with that.

i used to do that with the (mostly) fog light switches on my dad's lorries and vans for their mot's, lol. lack of use and the connections inside the switch must corrode to the point of not working.

So, Dragstalgia, what a weekend! You really missed something if you weren’t there,
first time out with the new custom convertor and running in NSS as per. Very hot with a strong squally wind made tuning very hard but I was changing jets and reading plugs trying to make some headway.
It was suggested that I try 36 degrees of timing rather than my usual 34, instant 3 tenths improvement and the plugs showed it was spot on.
Reading mixture wasn’t easy but I settled on good enough for the conditions and eventually was rewarded with a 10.92 @120 which is a PB. With more suitable weather conditions there’s a bit more left in this combination so hopefully improve on that later in the year,
The new PTC convertor supplied by Chris Goodale is mustard, best ever 60ft and it’s so sharp it was partly responsible for me redlighting in the 2nd round, it also is causing higher and longer wheelstands. So as much as I enjoy entertaining the crowd I need to calm it down a bit for next season when I’ll be trying to go a bit faster.

Awesome work! Would loved to have been there to see it, blaming the brilliant converter for a red light made me chuckle!

Seriously, it reacts so fast now I can’t launch at the first glimmer of the 3rd amber, it has to be fully on and I need the shallowest stage.

Well done on the PB, look forward to seeing you racing at the Mopar Nats.

Well the Mopar Nats didn’t quite pan out, after 2 check out passes it was clear I’d exceeded the capability of my mechanical pump and 3/8” fuel line. My normally rock steady 6psi fuel pressure now drops to zero on launch, just not enough volume. So that was it, I wasn’t risking burning a piston so by Friday mid morning I was done. Current plan is to get a new tank and weld a sump in it and find somewhere to mount an electric pump and run a 1/2” line forward.

So this is the plan. Combination of stock tank and tailpipes gives pretty much one option for mounting the pump. I’m using a Holley HP150 which should be adequate. As welding will be required, I’m waiting for a new tank to work on. First job is to weld on the pre fabricated Comp Engineering sump.

The pump will sit in the very tight space between the tank and axle, adjacent to the shock. I’ve made a mount which will be welded direct to the tank which gives as much clearance as you can get. The relay and fuses mount neatly to the now redundant jack stowage bracket and everything is wired direct to the battery for maximum output. Can’t do anymore till I have the tank fitted and then I can decide how best to plumb it.

1/2" is good, i ran an aluminium hard line that size front to back on my anglia mate. it future proofs the system that way
