Thought that was your cuda but was not 100% sure. You keep working on it and making it look nicer all the time. You will have to stop that if you want people to recognise it!

I did see Terry but as he does not know me from Adam I didn't force myself on him. (Trust me you don't want that Terry!)

Now you say Skippy was there I think I know who he was and yes he was at the club stand.

The '70 Daytona looked cool driving out with that little tyre chirp.

Or was that supposed to be a burnout?

One Mopar you don't mention was the 1970 Challenger R/T with the 383 and 'Gator Grain top. The two guys that show that car are very nice chaps and I always say hello to them when i see them. Didn't see them this time though.

The quality of the Rods was great. Had me thinking about when I am going to get around to building a '32 3-window. Mmmm.

But then again that '55 Chev brought back all those feelings I used to have when I was a teen. In fact even when I was 20 or 21 years old I still wanted that car (in it's Two Lane Blacktop guise) so much I would cry myself to sleep over it (honestly!). I was so poor I could hardly scrape together bus fare and I honestly thought I would never in a million years be able to own a car like that. Just the thought of having to touch a Chevy engine puts me off. At least with a '32 ford I could fit a real engine. :D

The funfair was cool for Tim & Mels boys. We all had a go on the mechanical bull? That was a laugh. Tim was good at it though. I think he was only a few seconds from the record when he fell off. I was useless. The thing was trying to mount me I think.

Dave, sorry if I ignored you or anyone else on Sunday but I have to be honest I was in a bit of a daze by then as I had been at Stoneleigh since Thursday, and as you say the amenities and the weather weren't the best. But having said that the quality of the cars was overall, excellent, and some of the rods were absolutely outstanding. I did try to make the effort to look around on the Sunday, so if a willing helper appeared then I readily accepted the offer of help. All in all it was a good show and again positive exposure for the club, plus we sold a fair bit of club merchandising and signed up two new members at the show and several who will be signing up in the near future.
I must say well done to the guys from American V8 for their award of Best Stand, I guess I'll have to try harder next year!!! And congrats to Paul Harbourne for Best 70's.
Next on the agenda is the NEC which will be upon us before I know it, so if any members pop by the stand come and say hi and make yourselves known to me so I can pick you out amongst the sea of faces.

 Hi guys, sorry to have taken so long to reply, haven't been on
here for a couple of days........bloody work, who needs it! Dave, the food
was Bananarama!, went to the cafeteria saturday 3pm, queued up, only to be told,
'hot food stopped being served half-an-hour-ago', oh well i thought, go
over to the hotel bar, they do food, 'we dont start hot food 'till 6pm' they
said, well thats just great, the stands outside have their food sitting there for 3-4 hours and the other places determine when you should eat!!!!
Over-all though, l enjoyed the weekend, although without the truck, l'd
have gone nuts being stuck there all the time, and, and don't anyone take this the wrong way, l think that there was too many rods there, and not
enough yanks, after all it was 'AMERICAR'.

I spoke to a couple at the show that I know called Eddie and Sandra Clarkson. They show Edsels and have one example from each year of production.
They had been there since the Thursday and were having a completely miserable time. They are the sort of people that like sitting showing their cars off all weekend long normally but this place was too much even for them. I think they were glad it was over.

I personally cannot stand more than one day at a show. Either looking or showing. That is why a show like the Mopar Nats is so important to me.
