great morg glad you saved it, 70 charger rt now thats cool,,,,,,,,, i am so baffled about your fuel leak out the manifold, so long as the carb is working right there should litterally be no evidence off fuel after you turn the mtr of under that manifold on the valley pan mystery

I was thinking that too, if the manifold is leaking gas it must have a carb fault as no fuel comes from a carb unless the engine is runnning...

I thought that so we tried a new carb, still leaks just a touch, I will see again today and report later, on the old carb it really leaked!

Not quite, my first Challenger (carter carb) leaked loads of fuel for a while when the engine was turned off, but hardly, if any, when running. My current one leaks fairly badly from the centre Holley under the same conditions, both ended up with puddles of fuel on the manifold when parked up. in fact I can smell the T/A when im in the house.
Ive put it down to leaks from fuel bowl, spindle bushes and accelerator pump diaghram, and when its running Im guesing its using fuel at a rate where it dosent leak.

The pump diaphrams and fuel bowls oftem leak on Holleys, esp with the stock type gaskets. The pump diaphrams are worth checking to see if they are flat. I have found a few in the past that needed a bit of draw filing to get them to seal correctly.

it leaked bad on the old holley, but this is a new carb, that has been tested, I will look closer on the float bowls on sunday after work.
hopefully that will resolve that!

Wow September ! that was the last time I had really done much to the car,
got involved with to many woman and going out !
Works had me working 13 day out of 14 sinc January so the cars been sitting there.
However, finally been down today and fitted new door hinges and new front lights.
Got this weekend off (first since December) !!
Got plenty of odd jobs to do now before it goes off to paint in 3 weeks and hopefully it will be ready for the nats.
I did say that last year like so many, but it will be drivable so worst comes to the worst it will be trailered, to atleast have a go on the 1/4 mile.
I will get some fresh pics to follow on sunday.

Hopefully see you all at the nats and get up to york Raceway for abit of northern Mopar action!

Got one side in black to see how bad the bodywork is.
Lots of minor ripples and dents, nothing major.
I will be able to get the car up and running and hopefully drive it down to the nats.
Might just look a little rough though! atleast it will be there one way or another.
Cannot afford a proper paint job for a while so I might just have a go myself in the garage atleast it will look a little bit more tidy.
