i have brought new lower ball joints any suggestions on a good way to fit them to the lower control arm as they are a tight fit(like they are ment to be) i tried knocking them in with a hammer but no joy. i dont wanna keep tightening them up incase i strip the thread.

They are torqued to 100 pounds using castle nut,or am I missing something here.
I have no idea what you are trying to do but I would stop until you know how to do it, no bottom ball joint should need hitting or pressing for it to fit
If it's the top one, you need a special socket to screw it in, 'tis fiddly and you can wreck the thread in the A-arm (If it's not already wrecked taking the old one out!). You are better off doing this job with the A-arm still bolted to the car.
