No brake lights.......

Post by Dave81 »

Whilst sorting the indicator issue today, I dropped the column slightly to assist in pulling the wires through. Part way through I noticed this on the floor.......now I'm sure I recognise this from the brake peddle contact, but I've got no photos in my archive to show it's position/mount.

The part:

Any ideas or photos chaps...........I'm at a loss on this one, but sure it's the reason for the lack of red lights.
All other lights work as they should. :thumbright:

I could be wrong, but it looks like it's meant just clip on somewhere, maybe at the lower part of the steering column?

I don't recognise that part at all, doesn't look like any A body brake light switch I've ever seen.

can't see pictures here at work

but the connector for the column indicator switch (6 way or 8 way conector) sometimes has a clip on it so it can be clipped up under the edge of the dash next to the column

Problem solved thanks chaps....... :help:

A night sleep and 10 minutes upside down in the car and all was clear.
When I dropped the column it pulled the earth wire off. Didnt register at the time, but I tucked it up into the loom out the way to undo bolts.

Now have all lights :thumbright:

The part in the pics..........I know I've seen it connected to something but I just can't remember where. The outer black face was the contact.

I'll keep it safe as it must do something. :thumbright:
