Re: RHD '68 BARRACUDA RESTORATION
Just thought I'd update everyone,
After some deliberation, I'd decided to sell the car & it has now passed into the hands of some mates of Blue's, Chris & Roydon who are going to carry on the restoration. I've been toying with the idea of selling for a while, due to a lack of time, lack of decent ...

A few more pics, the final bits of metalwork on the main shell.
The lower sections of the rear 3/4 panels forward of the wheel arches were removed some time ago as they were frilly & some locallised repairs to the sill ends underneath were needed. Outer skin sections now made up & welded in, with a ...

Looks good Blue.
Loving the "holey" hinge bar - every bit of weight saved counts!

Re: RHD '68 BARRACUDA RESTORATION
Thanks for the comments all.
That's exactly what had happened, the rust getting under the lead & pushing it out. I did expect the inner structure to be knackered but it was surprisingly sound. The stresses/flex in that area on the fastback especially must be crazy!

Re: RHD '68 BARRACUDA RESTORATION
Ok so a quick update on progress over the past few months.
When I got the car, it was obvious that there was rust in the C-pillar/roof join area bursting through. I think this must be common with the fastbacks as of the ones I've seen in the flesh, this area often looks to have been filled or have ...

She looks fantastic Blue!
I've often wondered about clay bars too, never used them as I was a bit sceptical. May give it a go on the Cortina!

Re: RHD '68 BARRACUDA RESTORATION
Thanks Blue.
That's a shame. Strange, you can understand panel companies not tooling up in the first place for panels with limited demand, but once the tooling's done it's not costing them anything. How have you got over that hurdle, are they available from elsewhere?
Love the way yours has turned ...
